Our Story

Three decades of cinematic excellence

ALEF was founded in 1992 in Bratislava, Slovakia. In 1996, it went through a transformation and three separate divisions came into existence. One of them is ALEF JO Filmštúdio, Ltd.

Both in Slovakia and abroad, we provide high-quality services (partial, as well as complete) by using the whole spectrum of formats of visual carriers. Our activities focus on development, production, and distribution of audio-visual projects of all kinds and genres (Feature Films, Documentary Films, Films for children and youth and the like).

Alongside domestic production, we also focus on international co-productions, collaborations, and providing full service. In the past, we have successfully collaborated with several significant co-production partners, such as: Devine Entertainment Corp., Canada; Slovak Television Bratislava; Slovak Film Institute, Bratislava; Czech Television; Television Markíza; Budapest Filmstudio; Magic Media Budapest; and more.

ALEF JO Filmštúdio collaborates with personalities from various social sectors of cultural, humanitarian, and scientific focus, as well as with advisors and experts, which guarantees high professional quality of our diversified projects.
