The year is 1846. In the town square of Pest, a gypsy carnival is in full swing as Franz Liszt is being rubbed by a violin playing gypsy boy, Josy. Liszt strikes a deal with Gypsies and takes young boy as a music student. It seems that their work and living together brings nothing but troubles. But suddenly, in Josy’s “gypsy music” Liszt finds the inspiration he has been seeking for so long. Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody creates a world where Josy and Liszt fit together on their own terms.
Featuring music from The Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, Carnival in Pest and The Mephisto Waltz.
